STATEMENT OF FAITH
City Church Space Coast accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and, for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine. The fundamental teachings of this Church are reflected in the following clear statements of faith.
We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are infallible, inerrant, and the sole and final authority for all matters of faith and conduct. Scripture is fully trustworthy as our final and sufficient authority for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We believe in the one living and true God, existing in perfect unity as three equally and fully divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (John 17:3; Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:1-4; Acts 5:3-4)
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the eternal Word, the one and only Savior. Jesus Christ is our Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as our powerful King. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 14:8-9; Luke 1:26-38)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, and those who accept Christ as their Savior will receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The Holy Spirit serves as our comforter, guide and advocate. The Holy Spirit is given to Christians and provides guidance in living, an understanding of the Bible, and prayerful intercession. (John 16:8; 13:15; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 1:22; 4:11-12; Romans 8:9-17; 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:4-5, 11-13, 19; Galatians 5:25; Hebrews 2:1-4; 2 Corinthians
12:12)
Salvation is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. That faith is expressed through repentance of sin and baptism by immersion. (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 6:23; Luke 3:21-22; Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38-41; 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16)
We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere, and organized into local assemblies, called churches. The church is the body of Christ on earth and is gifted and empowered by the Holy Spirit to evangelize the lost and edify the saved. We believe the church is a family of imperfect people pursuing community and live changing purpose in Jesus. (Ephesians 4:1-6; Romans 12)
City Church is a non-denominational independent Christian church. We teach from the whole Bible and strive to live like the early Church described in the book of Acts. Our heritage and history traces back to the Restoration Movement of the 19th century.
We believe it is the aim, duty, and privilege of every believer and local church to glorify God by actively fulfilling the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations. We believe our purpose is to connect our city to Jesus by reaching with compassion, and leading others to Christ by sharing His love. (Matthew 28:19-20)
